Download What is the Great Dream of the Communists? ePub - The great dream of the communists is the existence of an advanced scientific and technological society that works perfectly, led by a communist, secular and atheist government, in which there are no economic inequalities among citizens, nor is there money. This is evidenced in the Soviet futurist history In 2017 and in the television series Star Trek.

In both stories, the communist system has evolved from an initial stage of transition to the final stage. Nonetheless, can this long-awaited communist dream be achieved? This leads to formulate other questions (related to the origin, functioning, deterioration and end of the communist regimes): a) How does this ideal society originate?, b) How does this ideal society work?, c) How does this ideal society deteriorate?, and d) How does this ideal society end?

Although the success or failure of a communist system, depends mainly on the human nature, considering the circumstances of the moment and the expectations. However, the human being is extremely complex. His needs (physiological, safety, belongingness, esteem and self-actualization) are unlimited. His behavior is rational, optimizing, egoist and mimetic. Also, he is responsible for discovering the meaning of his life (despite the fact that postmodern culture and communist ideology deny this), and has always sought to achieve his happiness, trying to satisfy his needs.

In that sense, the great dream of the communists is not feasible due to the failures of the communist ideology, the economic-financial inviability of the aforementioned anti-capitalist model, and the implicit ignorance of the complex human nature and the main needs of the human being (by the communists). All these aspects lead to a stagnation of productivity and scientific-technological progress, and to the end of the communist government. Not even technology can preserve this system (in practice, the communist regimes can´t overcome the transition stage, while the fictitious and futuristic society of Star Trek, shows symptoms of deterioration and an eventual collapse), being more accurate the vision of Isaac Asimov (The End of Eternity), who explains how the most radical and aggressive form of communism, which could exist in the history of humankind, would eventually lead to the extinction of the human race.

Download How Inventions Really Happen Free - Inventor. Innovator. Entrepreneur.

These are today’s heroes. Public policies are designed to help them. Investors want to fund them. Successful ones make hundreds of millions, even billions, of dollars. Whole nations pin their hopes on these people to stimulate their economies, solve their problems, give them prestige on the world stage.

But who are they? What special gifts do they have? And what exactly is it that they do? That is what this book is about.

The story of the sewing machine, an invention that dramatically transformed the lives of women, shows that it was brought into existence by individuals with very different aims and talents. Who deserves the credit? Was it the man who built a test device that made a stitch, but then gave it away or lost it? Or another, who built a machine that barely worked, but got a patent on it? Then there was a man who developed it into something useful, and made millions from it. Or was the “true inventor” someone who built an innocuous device to move cloth between stitches, which turned out to be the one feature no sewing machine could do without? Or was he the man who made a simple machine that anyone could afford?

Each of these fascinating characters contributed something essential. If we look closely at what they did, and what they were like, we’ll understand how inventions really happen.

Download Come to the Waters Ebook Free - “Study of the Bible must be the consuming passion of a believer’s life.” So said James Montgomery Boice—and he practiced what he preached. Throughout the decades of his faithful church ministry, Boice devoted himself to the Word of God for the glory of God. This yearlong devotional selects from the fruit of his labor, distilling his teaching into 365 readings from Genesis to Revelation. A topical index and a Scripture index allow you to tailor your own reading plan.
In the spirit of Boice, the devotions are not moralistically superficial—intended to make you a better person. Instead they are intended to lead you every day to your only hope: Jesus Christ, the life-giving Living Water for your soul.

Endorsements
“James Montgomery Boice was a master Bible teacher. He could make the most difficult passages approachable, clear and practical. That legacy shines in this wonderful day-by-day collection. Read and savor. These devotionals will not only cause you to love the Word of God, but, more importantly, the God of grace who is revealed in every passage.”
—Paul David Tripp, President, Paul Tripp Ministries
“James Montgomery Boice was a prince of expositors, one of the most gifted preachers of our age. Here is the best of Boice in one volume, a compilation of his many preaching gems that focuses upon the greatness and grandeur of our awesome God. These carefully selected excerpts from his pulpit ministry will cause every reader to see our holy, sovereign God more clearly, love him more fully, and live for him more deeply.”
—Steven J. Lawson, President, OnePassion Ministries, Dallas
“The preaching of James Montgomery Boice was a primary instigator in the resurgence of Reformed theology in America in the late twentieth century. Those of us who had the privilege to sit under his ministry week after week experienced the life-changing power of Boice’s expository preaching. Come to the Waters captures the power of God’s Word as James Boice preached it and brings his ministry to life for readers today.”
—Richard D. Phillips, Senior Minister, Second Presbyterian Church, Greenville
“I have read with great pleasure, and much benefit, Marion Clark’s compendium of the writings of James Montgomery Boice. Dr. Boice was a gifted theologian and an unusually able preacher, but above all, a gracious man of God. Marion Clark has brought together some of the riches of Dr. Boice’s written ministry in these devotional readings, and I enthusiastically commend this new edition of an excellent piece of work. Daily use of it will enrich your spiritual life.”
—Eric J. Alexander, Author, Our Great God and Saviour
“In Come to the Waters, long-time colleague and friend Marion Clark gives us James Montgomery Boice at his Bible-teaching best. The detailed subject index makes this volume a mind-renewing theological resource as well as a soul-refreshing devotional treasure.”
—Philip Graham Ryken, President, Wheaton College
